High end speakers in your ears!
The Shure SE 535's are the 3rd in-ear phones I've used. The Ultimate Ears are fine sounding phones but the cable and cable jack are too susceptible to damage. After my second pair of UE's suffered a cable failure, I spent days researching the 'net for the best phones I could find that were reasonably affordable. After reading countless reviews, I decided on the Shure's. I am an audiophile used to listening to music on my home system and was looking for something that would fit in my ears and bring to me a comparable listening experience. The Shure's are it. These phones have no sonic weaknesses. The frequency spectrum is even, the sound is grain-free and the bass is appropriate to the music. It takes a few wearings to get used to the fit of these phones but when you do, they do not ... The Shure SE 535's are the 3rd in-ear phones I've used. As far as the cable issue...these have a detachable cable with gold plated contacts so if there is an issue down the road you can purchase a replacement cable and not have to replace the entire unit. By the way, the earphone housing is bullet proof!! Look...these are well designed, great sounding phones that should last a lifetime. For me it is like travelling with a portable stereo system such that I can enjoy many of the same nuances and details that make listening to my home stereo so satisfying. I highly recommend these earphones!

Shure SE535 sound isolating earphones
Excellent earphones for live monitoring or simply listening to your mp3 music. Definition is precise but a tight secure fit in the ears is critical for full depth of sound but with the variety of cushions supplied this can easily be achieved. Highly recommended from a user of shure sound products for over 40yrs

Nice clear sound but you definitely need to sample all the ear canal fittings to find one that gives a VERY good seal. Without this you'll hear very limited bass. I found that only the triple flange silicon fittings gave me this seal. The sound is very good though not significantly better than my single driver Etymotic 4Ps. Advantage over the Etymotics is that they sit flush with your head so you can sleep with them.Nice clear sound but you definitely need to sample all the ear canal fittings to find one that gives a VERY good seal.
