Not really purple/grey, it has more varied colours in reality, the 'grey' is more greenish/multi-coloured. Its the photographic effect of light/dark contrast, my own photo of it does the same. Sizing varies, and some are heavier than others, this one is a more generous fit, pretty heavy, and so really closer to the advertised size.
