This is a reconstruction of Hugh Thomson's celebrated 1894 Peacock Edition . Thomson, one of the most prolific and popular illustrators of his time, did fine line drawings for all six novels by Jane Austen; but to this edition he added amusing chapter heads and decorative initials, as well as a lavish green and gilt cover featuring a peacock perched on a sundial, enthralled by his own feathers.
