    Severely underrated

One of Mel Brooks and Leslie Nielson's finest/funniest movies. I've enjoyed this movie since I was a kid, and it still holds up to this day as comic gold. The adventure sets off with Dracula (Leslie Nielson) finding someone to do his bidding. Of course, it wouldn't be a Mel Brooks film without some slapstick comedy. Dracula terrorizes a small town with his subordinate, feeding on woman's blood. Sounds like a normal Dracula movie, right? Wrong! The slapstick comedy throughout this movie will literally have you rolling with laughter. I hope you enjoy this movie as much as I have these past 15 years!

  • No Young Frankenstein--But Bloody Funny!

This is a wonderful parody of the most famous Dracula films. It may not be of the classic one-of-the-funniest-films-ever-made status that is so well earned by Young Frankenstein, but it is a film you should enjoy time and time again. Leslie Nielson makes a marvelous Dracula and Peter MacNichol is inspired as the insane insect-gulping Renfield. In one of the best moments in the film, MacNichol snatches insects out of the air and off the ground as an incredulous Harvey Korman, as Dr. Seward, slowly catches on. Scenes that are authentic to the 1931 original, such as the usherette at the opera, are hysterical--and may not be fully appreciated if one has not recently viewed the original film. Brooks himself is funny as Van Helsing and Steven Weber is very funny as Jonathan Harker--who is ...

  • "love, hate, sensuality, and unbridled passion"+ laughs

God help me, but I do love Mel Brooks' movies. I love the sight gags, the one-liners, the play-on-words, and the fun he pokes at "serious" movies. Watching a Mel Brooks film has pulled me out of countless bad days, and sent me to bed with a smile on my face. "Dracula - Dead and Loving It" did not fail in that regard: Count Dracula - "Children of the night...what a mess they make." Thomas Renfield - "My God, what ARE you doing to the furniture?! I'll have you know that's my knee you're straddling! This is wrong, do you hear me, WRONG! .....Wrong me! Wrong me! Wrong my brains out! Two voluptuous women- grinding, heaving! It's hard to describe it...have you ever been to Paris?" Doctor Seward - "Give him an ...
