Product Information

The TP412 is a Dell motherboard designed and manufactured by Intel for Dell Precision T3400 workstations. This motherboard provides the backbone of what is a powerful computer either as a workstation or as a gaming PC. This Precision T3400 board is available as a pulled part so that professionals and enthusiasts can upgrade and repair their Dell Precision tower systems. The TP412 is also a viable choice as the basis for your own custom workstation build. Based on the Intel X37 Express chipset, you will connect your choice of processor to this Dell Precision board via Socket 775. Also known as Socket T and LGA775, this socket supports a wide range of core CPUs, including the Core Duo and Core 2 Quad processors. This board is configured for the ATX form factor. It measures 13.5 inches by 16 inches by 3 inches. It weighs 10.6 ounces and has the nine traditional mounting holes. Dell included this board in a case it designated as a full tower. It is a small size for ATX. That makes it a suitable choice for some smaller computer cases, including home theater PC cases designed for home entertainment. System memory for this Dell Precision T3400 board is provided via four dual-channel DIMM slots. Memory should be non-ECC and unbuffered and operate at 1.5 volts. Each slot supports up to 2GB of DDR2 RAM, which means you can have 8GB of system RAM overall. By default, these modules will be clocked at either 667 or 800 MHz. Storage is provided via six SATA II connections, which operate at a throughput up to 3 GB/s. Use these SATA connections to attach up to six hard drives and solid-state drives. RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 is supported by default. In an addition to an HDD or SSD, you can use these for optical drives, and a floppy drive connection is provided as well. Users can expand their Dell Precision to the needs of their workstations thanks to eight expansion slots. You will have access to two PCIe 2.0 at x16, one PCIe 2.0 at x 8, two PCIe 2.0 at x4, and three legacy 32-bit PCI ports. Note that this board is configured for a dedicated graphics card as opposed to an integrated graphics processor. If you choose to have one GPU, it will occupy one of the x16 slots. You can also have two in tandem thanks to either NVIDIA SLI or AMD CrossFire. In this case, the GPUs will occupy both x16 slots. An onboard audio chip is also provided, and this delivers high-definition stereo sound and supports speakers, headphones, and microphones on your workstation. The Dell Precision TP412 motherboard features 11 USB 2.0 ports in all. Six of these are accessed via the rear I/O panel. The other five are internal and provided so that you can attach USB ports on the case. An integrated NIC is also provided. Connect an Ethernet cable to the RJ-45 jack to have access to a 10/100/1000 network connection. Finally, this Precision board has standard PS/2 connections for a mouse and keyboard as well as a 9-pin serial port.     An excellent dell board!

    Great board with s.l.i. also accepts many many CPU choices including quad core and quad core extreme. 10 USB connections, 6 sata, on and on. This is the best lga 775 board I've ever had, and I have stacks of 'em. It is proprietary, and you need skills to work with that and can't overclock through bios, but there are other ways to o.c. frontside bus anyway. Very hearty board with connections for everything.
