It should have the 3rd bolt to keep it from spinning on the shaft like manufacturers gearbox, but otherwise it will work with this model weedeater. Tighten bolts as much as possible. Also, it shipped from Nashville to Oklahoma then back to Nashville for distribution to the surrounding areas. Why?

I thought it was the trimmer head which I bought for 35.00 and that was not the problem. This is my business so I have old trimmer attachments from a couple of Ryobi trimmers. I took a gearhead off of one and attached it and how about that, it works fine. I also bought Stihl grease for the one I bought from you which didn't do anything. It doesn't make any noise anymore because I put a sledghammer to it.
