  • Excellent plot, beautiful artwork but... where is Motoko?

The graphic novel is amazing with a deep philosophical plot that never made it fully to the movies for obvious reasons (you can't fit everything in a 2-hour movie). The movies are inspired by the books but they stand on their own and if you liked their plot you should definitely read the original graphic novels. The book is high quality with more pages in colour compared to the original GitS, even if the size of the pages is smaller. Motoko doesn't actually appear much in the story but all the characters, old and new, are interesting. The artwork is very impressive, even better than the first GitS. Fantastic book that adds to the the world of GitS and even though I'd like to see more of Motoko, the protagonist of the first book, I respect Masamune's choice to write a totally original story ...
