Made for the Tandy Corp. (aka Radio Shack) by the Shure Bros. company, the 33-1017B is for all intents and purposes a clone of an Electro-Voice RE50 omnidirectional dynamic mic. Outstanding as drum overheads for that old school Abbey Road sound, they also excel on snare, amps, percussion, even some vocals and acoustic instruments. These are real sleepers, especially for under $50 but watch the prices shoot up now...Made for the Tandy Corp. a nice classic standard mic used for decades
When it comes to a durable 'hand held' MIC, this model cannot be improved upon -- unless you don't want a cable. But the mic itself is perfect for hand held use. There is NO 'pop' with up close speaking -- and this is without an additional foam (etc) wind screen. Very good MIC.
