Product Information

The sequel to the computer game Heretic continues the first-person fantasy combat that distinguished its predecessor. Instead of guiding a lone protagonist, you can now choose from three distinct characters: a fighter, cleric, or mage. Each character possesses special abilities and is individually rated in four attributes: speed, armor, magic, and strength. Characters can acquire up to four class-specific weapons to use against an assortment of evil creatures. In addition to the melee- and projectile-based combat, the game features several puzzles and traps to overcome or avoid. <br><br>You'll witness poison darts, spikes, crushing walls, collapsing bridges, earthquakes, bottomless pits, and other dangers while activating switches or finding keys to trigger events. Locate ancient artifacts to imbue your character with new powers. The single-player adventure spans five episodes, each comprised of multiple levels linked together by "hubs." The Nintendo 64 version also includes multiplayer support via split-screen display. Up to four players can compete in a deathmatch, or two players can fight evil together in the cooperative mode. A Controller Pak with 90 free pages is required to save progress.

    Hexen - A N64 Classic

    When one looks at the history of video games, there tends to be a few categories games fall under: Legendary, Great but Forgotten, and well, Terrible. Hexen could have fallen under Legendary, but instead it fell under Great but Forgotten. Hexen was just as good, if not better, than gaming giants of the time (I'm looking at you Golden Eye and Perfect Dark), but was completely overshadowed. The game features a robust amount of levels, a slew of unique enemies, and depth that other more "realistic" fps games (Like Golden Eye) simply couldn't offer. If you are looking for an FPS game that not only is exciting, intense AND has a lot of depth to it, then look no further! Believe me when I say that you won't be disappointed.

    Awesome Creepy Strategy Game for N64

    This is an awesome game to have for N64, but not for the faint at heart when it comes to monsters, creepy effects and dark magic. Now, don't get me wrong, this game looks like a joke compared to most games today like on Xbox 360 with plenty of gore & blood & guts. This chock full of fun and lots of strategy to be used throughout the game.

    A really nice port.

    While it may suffer from some somewhat wonky controls and a hefty saveblock cost on the N64, HeXen is is a great addition to any library where shooters are welcome. Multi leveled goodness, smooth fps with very few drops and all the content from the DOS classic. What's not to love?
