I love slasher movies, especially 80's slashers. Even better are the ones that you can make fun of by their implausibility, bad acting, bad special effects and bad script. Well, this one had all of the above but I found myself getting impatient and annoyed. On the day of her wedding a girl is murdered by her ex-boyfriend. He continues killing engaged girls - or so the description suggest, but he actually kills just about anyone which make this movie even less effective. His next target is a girl whose "lovely" boyfriend is going away for a "bachelor" weekend with 2 friends and 3 sluts - too bad they did not get killed. The acting is atrocious! The killer is more funny than scary, his eyes are so wide he must use lots of eye drops to keep them wet! The girls are all the same, wimpy girls who cannot defend themselves. They all hear something and want the guy to "check out the strange noise" while they hide and act all scared. But there is no logical reason for them to be scared (yes the killer is there but they do not know that and the noise is a very normal house/woods/etc creak/noise. There is no blood and no gore, the killer looks like he is punching people rather than stabbing them. The main girl gets away from the killer twice while everyone else (males included) get killed super fast with no struggle or shot at escape. The only good shot is the head in the fish tank - that's all I'll say about that. Tom Hanks has a small part and he is just like he always is - a good, funny guy who seems very nice, he actually looks like a natural unlike the rest of the cast. Skip this one horror fans - no gore, no blood, a glimpse at nudity. For better slasher fun from 1980 check out Friday the 13th or Maniac.Read full review
Tom Hanks first role is in a Slasher film, who would've guessed? This film is about a killer going on a rampage after engaged women......So either its your type of movie or it isnt so wheather you purchase it or not is your choice but I can tell you fans of the slasher genre wont be disappointed with He Knows You're Alone!
I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who loves 80's slasher movies! You just can't find movies anymore that are like them. It's a great movie!
I got this because it was Tom Hanks first movie and I wanted to see it. It was good but Hanks was not in it enough... It was scary.
