August Macke (1887-1914) hinterließ ein malerisches und zeichnerisches Werk, das unauslöschlich und unerschöpflich ist. 1962 publizierte Elisabeth Erdmann-Macke, geb. Gerhardt, ihre Aufzeichnungen, die sie bereits im Jahre 1915 begonnen hatte, um ihren Söhnen Walter und Wolfgang »ein Bild ihres Vaters zu bewahren«. »Sie erzählt ganz unbefangen die Geschichte ihrer Liebe als einen zarten Traum aus sagenhaften Friedenstagen. Sie scheut auch vor dem Intimen nicht zurück, wo es dazu dient, die Gestalt des Malers oder seinen menschlichen Lebensbezirk (und dazu gehört ja unlösbar das persönliche Erleben der Schreiberin, ihr Denken, Fühlen und Handeln) deutlich zu machen. Sie schildert ihre junge Ehe, den Kreis der Freunde und der künstlerischen Weggefährten des Mannes, Städte und Landschaften, durch die sie gemeinsam gewandert sind, Geschichten und Episoden, Familiäres und Unbedeutendes, Künstlerisches und Kunstgeschichtliches - alles dieses in Erinnerung an ihn und sein Werk.« Günter Busch

The item arrived earlier than expected. Great seller and very accurate communication about the delivery. In the description, the seller mentioned that the book contained some marks of the previous owner, but actually these are very few and they mainly focus in the first page, in my opinion adding more value and charm to the whole item.
