This enthralling book is about a man who adopts a little boy with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and the struggles he faces in raising this little boy, as well as the struggles of the little boy growing up. Having a little boy with FAS myself, it gave me so much more insight into my son's world. Everything I read reminded me of my own little boy who is now 13 and the struggles behind us, and it painted a picture as to what to expect into adulthood. If you or someone you know has a child struggling with FAS or if you are a caregiver of a child with FAS then I implore you to read this book for both of your benefit. Also after reading this book, I felt a genuine interest in the author and his son and wanted to know how everything turned out for them in the end so I did some research. I am saddened to say their story ended very tragically and really broke my heart, but that tragedy in itself is a window through which an even deeper understanding occurs of the challenges faced by families with a child having FAS. It has been said that sometimes we see further through a tear than a telescope. There is so much groundbreaking research in this book and so much insight and understanding to be gained... and you will probably find yourself having become a little more human for having read it.Read full review

I like his story of challenge raising his son "Adam". I didn't like the way he wrote his book because it was confusing. i bought the book for my class.
