I purchased this book to help me in solving problems with my 1998 Buick Lesabre. The price was excellent and the book brand new. My dissapointment is there are no chapters on trouble shooting trouble codes (DTC) or in pin pointing the problems. So as a reference/repair manual, great. As a diagnostic aid, no help. I took Auto Mechanics in High school so the explanations aren't rocket science plenty of photos. In all, well worth the $20 US investment. The cost new was $120 US approximately. Hope this helps others. Jan
The Chiltons manuals provide all the details needed to dig into the repairs most home mechanics would want to tackle. Unlike some of the lesser manuals Chiltons provides more details so that information is there beyond what you can find in the other manuals and it's affordable. The Chiltons manual is hardbound for durability so it should last for many years. Several models, and model years are covered with all the specifications needed for a variety of repair issues. I decided to buy this manual because the soft back manuals only provided a little information and caused me to spend money leaving me with more questions about what information I needed for the repair I needed to do. I recommend the Chiltons Manual Series above all others.
This book is just as described, help for the professional. The steps for repairs are easy to find and easy to follow, however you really do need to have very advanced automotive training. I ended up also buying a Chilton guide. Chilton had more pictures and between the two books I am happy to say I got my repairs done, saving hundreds of dollars. This book is a good value for a handy source.
