I first watched this movie 30 years ago and since it still stuck in my mind after all these years, I decided I needed to get a copy. Did not disappoint on 2nd viewing, still a great howler. My spouse compared it to Plan 9 From Outer Space.(It reminds me more of Flash Gordon). Actors include a young David Hasselhoff, and Christopher Plummer as the Emperor. Some of the worst special effects ever (christmas tree lights as stars, lava lamp monsters), equally bad dialogue. If you like bad movies, you will love this one.

Pretty poor by today's standards, but if you go back 40 years, then this wasn't bad. An Italian knock off of Star Wars and Jason and The Argonauts with a HOT BABE Caroline Munro in sometimes skimpy outfits and a very young David Hasselhoff. By today's standards, this is pretty bad, but Caroline Munro is such a beauty that's it's worth a watch if you're into old sci-fi and bad effects. She was previously Dr. Phibes dead wife and only laid there dead and in pictures and was a beauty. If you liked that movie, then watch this to see her move and talk.

When Star Wars was released in 1977, it spawned a slew of imitations. This film is one of them. However in my modest opinion, it is one of the better pictures to emerge from this sub-genre. In fact, I consider it to be one of the most unusual, surreal science fiction movies ever committed to celluloid. It stars Caroline Munroe as "Stella Star" a trouble making heroine who kicks heiney at the drop of a hat. David Hasselhoff makes an early film appearance as wimpy "Prince Simon" and the late, great Joe Spinell is a tour de force as the evil "Count Zarth Arn". The picture was an Italian-English co-production with a mixed crew. The special effects in this film are off the wall. For instance, the starfields in this universe look like Christmas tree lights and the robot charachter "El" speaks with a Southern accent! Fantastic! Where else would you find this but in an Italian movie with a predominatley English and American cast! The movie may have gotten the green light due to the success of Star Wars, but in many ways it is a "one off" original that cannot be compared to anything. That alone makes it required viewing for all cinemaphiles!Read full review
It was entertaining and the leading lady was very pretty and easy on the eyes.
