About this product

Product Information

Hanovi Braddock Ayesh knows that danger lurks in the Miritiin Mountains, and danger is just what she wants. With her beloved cities of Neah turned to dust and rubble in the goblin wars, with even their memory fading to legend, what reason does she have to go on living? She's ready to die--as long as she goes down killing goblins. But the Miritiin minotaurs have plans for Ayesh, plans that don't include her death--yet. And as Ayesh becomes entangled in the inticate web of Miritiin poitics, she realizes that allies can be even deadlier than enemies.

  • A deeply satisfying read

Hanovi Braddock has created a neat little world of minotaurs and goblins, and a fascinating human protagonist to delve into it. While the book is a trifle odd in that it has "Magic" on the front cover and contains almost none, it makes for a fine example of fantasy literature, laying out a tense internal conflict for the Mirtiin minotaurs which our heroine Ayesh's presence brings to a head. The descriptions are lush, the action is subtle and filled with surprising twists, and the ideas beneath the narrative are gripping. The book's chief flaw is that the ending drags out through not one but two meandering anticlimaxes after the main plot reaches its conclusion; it's all well and good to want to give a little context for what happens afterward, but this epilogue is easily twice as long ...
