Got More Than I Paid For
It is not an L series lens that I cannot afford yet and it is not as powerful for birds as I had hoped. However,it is well constructed, it has very good glass, it takes pictures that I can be proud of over a decent focal range, it extends me past my Canon 28-135mm (which I adore), and with enough light it can be hand held for some decent shots at 300mm. A tripod would still be better but is not practical for "grabbing shots" as I did with it in a recent street shoot in Philly. It lacks IS which makes decent bird flight shots iffy and the AF can get into wandering searching out a relatively small target in the sky. However, if I point it at The Liberty Bell or on a prostitute it will usually target just fine. Bottom Line: This lens can do a lot well if the time is taken to learn to use it ... A Winner.
To begin with he Sigma APO Macro 70-300 mm F/4.0-5.6 APO DG Lens is a FULL FRAME lens that can be used by the top of the line models of Nikon cameras . It is very light and reasonably compact for the range of focal lengths it covers. Not only it image quality is first class , its price cannot be beaten by no manufacturers and that , in my book , makes it a winner.

Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DL Macro for Nikon AF-D
I love this lens. I am using it with my Nikon D40. Very fast auto focus that does not drain battery. A great deal considering the cost of other lenses less than 300mm. I occasionally use with a doubler, auto focus doesn't work with the doubler, but this is a limitation of the doubler due to the f/4-5.6. With the doubler I have taken great pictures of wildlife and the moon.

Tis is one of the best lenses I have ever purchased
That lens is a cream puff.super fast zoom, excellent condition. The lenses are perfect, I am very happy with it. I am searching for a sigma 2x teleconverter now to compliment it.

Good lense for the money
i have nothing bad to say about this lens, its a good lens for the price you pay. It is a little loud indoors but other than that outdoors its perfect for sports,wildlife and scenery.
