I have a really heavy 10.8lb Les Paul Traditional and the 57 Plus has always been a love hate relationship with me. I have one in my SG Standard and love it but it's really blah in my Lester. I bought this to just try it and was blown away. This sounds great in my guitar and gave it the balls I was looking for. It's fairly dynamic for a hot pickup too. You can roll the volume down and tame the beast to a good classic rock crunch. I wired it up to could split because my Lester has it stock and it's still loud and hot split. For anything from 70s arena rock to 80s hair to 90s alt and nu metal to thrash this is your pickup. It's pretty well rounded if you like gain. I play it thru an EVH 5150iii and it's exactly what I was after.. Or until my tastes change again in 6 months.
