This D&D book is a great reference for "far eastern" themed adventures. It provides sufficent information on races and classes as well as monsters that would be found exclusivly or figure prominantly into any "eastern" setting. There is also a nice chapter on world building that is very appropriate. If i have one complaint about the book, it would be that the book talks to much about the Rokugan setting, and not enough about other possible settings. But other then that it is a great resource.
A good example of an oriental campaign. It is third edition, so you and your DM may want to make some modifications if you're used to using 3.5 I would not suggest it for a first-time campaign group. If you're doing a big oriental adventures campaign you probably want every player to have one, like their own personal players handbook - unfortunatley, I don't think this is printed anymore. Rumour is an update is coming out soon.
I suppose this is a good product for what it sets out to do. If you're into "the Legend of the Five Rings" thing, then it's highly recommended. But, for the average D&D player, like this reviewer -- he flatters himself, then the absence of the "European King-Arthur-type" feel leaves a great big hole in the D&D experience. However, I do have to hand it to them for having some really super-cool monsters!! That section is just not quite worth the price of the book. Close, but not quite.
The book was in great condition. My friend enjoys it very much.
