    VW repair and instruction book

    I would say that this book is very informative in its content and in its writing style. It is written in a 60's laid back attitude. You can read it almost like a book instead of going to only the section of VW repair that you need. It is illustrated well, with hand drawn pictures that capture all that is needed for that particular repair procedure. Yes, you can go and buy the usual Chilton or Haynes repair manual and it also will give you what you need in fixing your VW bug...but you will have a smile on your face when you fix your bug using this manual of procedures. It will give you a greater respect and love of your VW bug as you get your hands dirty...and maybe leave a few greasy fingerprints on this book for a reminder of a certain time that you had enjoying fixing your VW bug.

    How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive

    I found this book overall to be extremely helpful for a beginner VWist of which I am. There is a section of How To Buy a Volkswagen which I found to be very informative and useful as I am currently looking to purchase a vintage VW Beetle. There are GREAT illustrations and descriptions and I found the book to be very humorous and colorful. If you are a beginner VWist then I highly recommend this book. It has great detailed explanations of How To's with everything from where to buy parts on how to install them. The reading is EASY and the wonderful illustrations make the book easy to understand.

    How to Keep Your VW Alive...

    The best VW repair manual ever written. Plain English, with great "I've been there" stories. ANYONE who owns a VW (air cooled) whether they do repairs or not, should read this book. This is my 4th or 5th copy, and I thank John Muir (may he rest in piece) and Eve Muir for their efforts. If you buy one, be sure to get the edition that covers you model year (the ook has been up-dated numerous times)
