    Alvin York is a Kentucky farm boy who wins the heart of his girl and the top US medal of honor.

    It is good that this old 1941 movie is available at all, but it seems you can only get it in NTSC (US) format which looses a little definition when played back on a widescreen PAL (AUS) television. This disparity does have a slight incompatibility, at least via my Panasonic DVD player and how it was displayed on my Samsung television screen, producing the odd frame jump, but generally it worked fine and the jumps were few and far between and not too distracting.
