About this product

Product Information

I'm living in this world. I'm what, a slacker? A "twentysomething"? I'm in the margins. I'm not building a wall but making a brick. Okay, here I am, a tired inheritor of the Me generation, floating from school to street to bookstore to movie theater with a certain uncertainty. I'm in that white space where consumer terror meets irony and pessimism, where Scooby Doo and Dr. Faustus hold equal sway over the mind, where the Butthole Surfers provide the background volume, where we choose what is not obvious over what is easy. It goes on...like TV channel-cruising, no plot, no tragic flaws, no resolution, just mastering the moment, pushing forward, full of sound and fury, full of life signifying everything on any given day...

AOK. Item as described, reasonable condition (as described), excellent price, reasonable packing and shipping time, no problems. Thanks. (Sorry, I don't do star ratings when some are automatic, as it's unfair to buyers to have eBay pre-empt any of the scores. You should complain to eBay, as your star ratings would have been very high.) I can't rate the product until I read it. It's unfair for eBay to require a product rating in order to send feedback! The guys at eBay are heavily into control.

  • Cultural touchstone from a pivotal film at a time in a great city before the reign of Starbucks.

There’s nothing I could say that would convince you to find the value in a book like this. You either love them, because you were brought up with books of this nature and design, or you find them completely uninteresting and nothing more than a relic novelty from grampys day. I frequently gift these types of books and have in fact gifted this very one twice in the past twenty years or so. However, they are increasingly hard to find these days and I was happy to see this one pop up at a reasonable price. I may hold on to this copy for a minute or two.
