Absolutely brilliant Motown compilation featuring Diana Ross & The Supremes, The Four Tops, The Marvelettes and many more with some truly great songs. My personal favourite is "The Happening" by Diana Ross & The Supremes and is arguably one of the best Motown songs ever. Just listen to the key change in the middle of this song, otherwise known as the break, absolutely awesome. Great cd and highly recommended⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I do not dislike anything about this item at all. I have owned this album on vinyl LP (twice) and tape cassette - all of which I wore out. I have now bought my second CD version too. During the mid-Sixties and later this series of albums - namely the first two - were always being bought in record shops. The next batch which was volume 3 and onwards were also very popular right up to volume 6 of early 1971. Even when volume 7 was released during mid-1972 people were still buying the first three volumes. Volumes 4 and 5 were also quite good, and although not quite as good as the previous three, still sold quite well. Volume 6 appeared to revive the popularity of this series as did volume 7. The only ''quite good one'' after then, volume 8, was the last one that could be classed as any level of good. Further albums 9, 10 and 11 were not good at all and appeared to be just a bunch of odd tracks thrown together. Volume 9 even had The Supremes ''Where did our love go?'' from 1964 ''thrown in''. Only the first three volumes of this series will ever be classed as classic albums, and volumes 5 and 6 were only quite good due to the Diana Ross solo tracks. Also during the days of volumes 5,6 and 7 there was a lot of emphasis on the new Supremes line-up, the Jackson Five and odd R Dean Taylor tracks. This also included both The Temptations and Four tops with newer - not better - material, plus both groups singing together with The Supremes on two records which didn't quite sound right either. Motown started to go downhill probably after volume six actually. Where once all the best groups had turned out their own albums regularly for years there weren't as many albums anymore and the only regular Motown albums would be those in the ''Chartbusters'' Series. I will continue to buy probably the first five of those albums but never any further though, I have bought volumes 6, 7 and 8 on CD they will do for me. I still have volume 9 on tape cassette but have only ever played it twice since 1975. I will always play all of my earlier Motown albums of groups and singers, because like the ''Chartbusters'' albums up to volume 6, those are the true ''classics''. y MotownRead full review
