    Good gangster movie, but poor transcription

    It is a decent movie, but Alpha video pirated someone else's release. In the process they ended up with a video which is very soft with poor detail. This is typical of a large number of their releases. So if you come across the original DVD release you will have a better movie. Alpha typically does little or no processing to add value other than create beautiful packaging and a fancy initial menu. Virtually every Alpha video I have purchased has been inferior to other releases. OK, they release it as a standard DVD rather than as a burned copy, which means their copy will last longer. Sometimes they do release a clean sharp copy, but that is rare in my experience. I have a better copy from another source, but I bought this to see if it was better. Among the better sources for ...
