    LET ME DECIDE WHEN THE MC-05 SHOULD BE REPLACED

    It seems to me that the MC-05 is designed to do two things only: 1. To sop up the excess ink that is used in the horribly expensive nozzle flushing routines. 2. To bring in cash to Canon. The MC-05 can hold a lot more ink than it does when the counter tells the printer to shut off. The MC-05 pads fill up at different rates, so that the left-hand "well" begins to fill while some of the pads are relatively empty of ink. Why can't a cartridge be designed that collects and combines the ink from the different collection openings, so that more ink can be held by a single pad that soaks up the ink and spreads it out throughout the pad. This would require a completely different pad material and some way of making the ink flow within the cartridge. Get to work, engineers!
