    A great way to be indroduced to the band!

    I didn't realize when I bought this on eBay that it was a greatest hits album. Just popped it into the player and listened. The first song makes you want to get up and dance, and it just gets better from there. There is more than enough here to illustrate why the Dead is one of the greatest bands in rock history. This was released in 1974, and the fact that they had so many more years and great songs ahead of them validates their status as legendary.

    Good stuff.

    This is my THIRD copy. Yes, I would classify myself as a Deadhead, but this is a great recording. Not the long jams that you get from any live recording, but the studio versions of the songs that helped create the legend.
