    Great for a full HD LOTR experience

    This is a great boxed set of the Blu-ray full HD extended editions of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The packaging is compact and beautifully designed. Be careful choosing the set version, though. There are two versions of this same boxed set. One is Canadian and the other is US. The fronts are the same but the backs show some of the set description in French which indicates the Canadian version. I bought this Blu-ray upgrade to replace my previous DVD extended versions. Not only are the Blu-rays far superior in picture quality, but the whole set takes up much less room than the DVD boxed sets. The movies are still split across two discs for each movie, but that just means no compression was necessary to make the long run time fit on one Blu-ray each.

    Lord of the rings trilogy.

    Lord of the rings trilogy. I wanted to get this in 4K but, it is not been transferred yet. It may not. Because it was only shot in 2K from what I understand. The movie in Blu-ray version is excellent. I have a 4K player that changes Blu-ray to 4K by upscaling. It helps a great deal. The image and audio quality is excellent. I love the movies. That’s why I purchased them.

    A classic trilogy of movies for all time...

    Best Trilogy ever put together with timeless lessons that always apply, especially in the world we are living in and seeing materialize today. Tolkien was a genius and it is rare that a movie can match the quality and glory of incredibly well written books; but this trilogy does that and more. I highly recommend the trilogy and I love that it has a Biblical theme as it weaves its tale to towards the final "Return of the King," movie.

    If you loved The Lord Of The Rings trilogy, then you will LOVE the extended editions! Casual viewers will probably scream in terror at the runtime of these movies, but any fan of either books or movies will adore these! They are super long, but so worth the time if you want a more complete story from Peter Jackson's already awesome movies!
