I was looking for a wide, lightweight supple rear tire for my velomobile because I suspect it might have low rolling resistance and this tire was the best available. I also use a latex tube with this tire for even more reduction in rolling resistance. There are other quality tires available, but they were more narrow and I suspect they would have higher rolling resistance because of the narrower width, plus they don't have off-the-shelf latex tubes that would fit, you would have to fabricate them. I've had good luck with these tires, no flat for 500 miles and counting but you do have to pump them up before every ride which is no big deal in my book. I just completed a supported 100 mile cycling event, I will go back to heavier, more robust tires for my training rides because the Panaracers probably have a shorter life due to a thin tread.Read full review
