    A well plotted, Medieval gripper.

    This was my book group's choice for the December read and my heart sank when I saw the size of it - thinking it would be an all-too-long 'blokey' read! However, from the first page I was gripped by this fast moving tale set a few years after the Norman Conquest. The descriptions of Medieval life are vivid, the characters engaging and the pace cracking. I'd definitely recommend it.

    This the second book that I have read by Ken Follett and find his style of writing to be excellent.He moves through individual characters within the story in a way that blends very seamlessly and draws you in. compelling and easy to read.
