  • A very interesting reflection at an appalling time.

You get what you expect from this book. The humour may not be riotous but considering the appalling conditions of the time the fact that there was any humour at all is amazing. Its the sort of book you will dip in and out of.

  • Painfully funny

This copy was in excellent, only slightly used condition. The content is another thing, at once horrifying and a remarkable insight into the way in which humour allows us to cope with unthinkable, unimaginable circumstances.
