I had a 2009 GE microwave that was throwing sparks like metal was in it, but the sparks were coming from the side of the microwave. I could tell they were coming from the inside. This part fixed it and was cheaper than a $300 microwave. Interesting note: My mom's 1997 GE microwave just died and it had the same part in it. (I just junked it due to the age)

Used this to replace the magentron in my microwave. It arrived undamaged and clean. It had the four mounting nuts included. Works great. For anyone else doing this, I suggest testing the capacitor with a multimeter (look up how to discharge a microwave capacitor) and checking the fuses on the control board before replacing the magnetron.

Well, I helped get the microwave oven down and back up, and helped loosen a couple of screws. Yes, you can do it and save cost of a new one. Just remember how to put it back together.
