      Very Early Music.

      This book precedes book two (obviously!) which covers the renaissance and baroque in music. In covering ancient forms and polyphony it was quite a world music book for its time, although it is now a little dated. I read and have owned books two and three since the late 1970's so was pleased to finally acquire the missing part of the trilogy!
