    A very apt title.

    I have now read all of Bernard Cornwell's Last Kingdom series and have enjoyed all of them, especially this one. I think the Wolf, is Uhtred himself. There is no doubt that it is through characters like him, that the country now known as England, was created. A very enjoyable read indeed!

    Uhtred or Roy?

    This is another great read for lovers of the Uhtred, Last Kingdom series. However I do ask myself is Uhtred, who is still battling on at 60, the Roy of the Rovers of warriors?

    Bernard Cornwall can do no wrong in my eyes but to enjoy these books at their best I recommend that any newcomers to this series of books read them in order to thoroughly get into the era, characters and story lines.
