Good guitar, could be better with minor changes
Firstly, this is a nice guitar and I’m very happy with it. The build quality is the equal of the mid-priced Squier/Epiphone types, and the fit & finish is excellent. That said, I did make some changes to improve it (imo) as per below. The existing string trees (butterfly type) have the string-facing surface parallel to the headstock and this was catching the string causing pinging and tuning problems. I swapped these out for the bent style ones (like you see on older Fenders) that present a convex surface to the string and this fixed the problem. You could also install the cylindrical type but, please, not those grotesque monolithic standoffs – there are more subtle variants available. There is nothing wrong with the stock pickups but I swapped them out for some Donlis ones I had lying ... Firstly, this is a nice guitar and I’m very happy with it. These are also ceramic but are wound a little stronger and have larger pole pieces – just gives a bit fuller sound I reckon. The electronics worked fine so I left them in. I also swapped out the bridge for one with a full size trem block and a more “pick-friendly” string spacing (54mm v 52mm). Not sure if this affects the sound but it just feels better to me. If you do this just be wary of the mounting hole spacing. The neck is great. A little wider than say a Squier but very well constructed and I love the larger frets, BUT the fret ends are beveled on such a radical angle that it impinges on the playing area. This is a common trait amongst Chinese made guitars. If the manufacturer adjusted this angle to about 30-35 degrees (off the vertical) it would make for a much better playing and versatile guitar. The nut is plastic but it is well shaped and the slots are cut about right, so it stayed in. A bone nut could be substituted at manufacture for little to no cost though. Likewise with the tuners – they are not Kluson or Grover quality but they do the job and have a great vintage vibe with the split posts and rounded buttons, so they stayed too. So if this message can somehow be fed back to the manufacturer, I believe it would make a really good guitar even better : 1) Change the string trees - see above. 2) Fit a bone nut in lieu of the plastic one. 3) Critical - Reduce the beveling angle on the fret ends from 45 deg to 30-35 deg max. Total manufacturing cost = maybe $2, probably less. End rant.

Lightweight Value
What makes this strat good apart fom the low price, is its low weight ,it makes it really fun to pick up and play . Mine came with a low playing action and no sharp fret ends .They look great and you can get nice traditional strat tones out of it .Machine heads and temelo are where they save on production costs but it holds tune well .
