Hear the CD. See the band!
I first bought this CD back in 1991 after hearing N17 (track 14) on the radio. It was then stolen a few years later when I was burgled, I hope the robbing sods enjoyed it as much a I had! So 16 years later after seeing The Saw Doctors supporting The Pogues last December I realised that This was a CD I needed back. It hasn't dissapointed. My personal favourite tracks are 'sing a powerful song', 'red cortina', 'Presentation Boarder' and 'N17'. But all the songs on the album are strong without exeption. From the opening kick ass rouser 'I useta lover' through to the gentle close of 'I Hope You Meet Again', the songs sound almost biographical to life in Galway in the late 80's early 90's. What Springsteen does for New Jersey, the saw Doctors do for Tuam. Catch them on tour if you can but hear ... I first bought this CD back in 1991 after hearing N17 (track 14) on the radio. Saw Doctors - If This Is Rock 'n' Roll...
Great album.. Great band. The debut album from the mighty Saw Doctors is what every fan with a bit of taste should have in their collection. Yes The Pogues are considered 'THE' Irish band, but to be honest they could'nt tie these lads shoe-laces !! From the opening 'I useta lover' to 'Ihope we meet again' you get a wide range of absolutely everything. Get The barbie on & open a can or 12, sit back with your mates & sing along to the most 'sing-a-long song' since Jilted John which is track 14, N17. If you dont like this lot , then I can only suggest you check out 'THE HAPPY CATS' from Newcastle to make your blood bump !Great album.. Great band.
