Daives Craig 0500 Controller
I have installed the Davies Craig 0500 Fan Controller in a Holden LX Torana, and really happy with it. I did also purchase the extra 0465 1/4" NPT Thermal Sensor & Plug Kit, which fits Adrad HOL954CA Radiators nicely for a neat install. I have found it easy to set up the temperatures for fan 1 and fan 2, and have the option of using the air conditioner button once I get that sorted. Positives: Looks great in the instrument pod supplied, easy to set, and works well. There is a few seconds delay before the fans turn on for hot starts, so the fans aren't on while cranking. Negatives: I installed it under the dash, so the existing hole in the instrument pod didn't line up with the controller socket, and heat shinked wiring was a bit rigid to flex, so I had to cut another hole. Also, the thermal sensor socket is quite large, which means cutting a larger hole in the firewall than expected (the manufacturer stipulates not to cut that wiring). The display isn't easy to read in glaring sunlight, but not a big problem if ideal position is considered during installation. I was a little worried about the small wire gauge used, but hasn't caused any problems. Overall, an excellent product.
