Making an upgrade
Greetings, I have decided to make a change in my morning coffee. I decided to make my morning coffee using a French press. After purchasing a 2 cup French press I needed a coffee grinder. After some research I decided to go with the Mr. Coffee burr mill grinder. I did not even consider a blade grinder because they are too in consistent with the grind. I wanted a new machine not a used one. I decided to purchase from Best Buy because they have a one year warranty on their description of their product. I did not see that on any of the others. I have been using a French press and Mr. Coffee burr mill grinder for about a month now. I am amazed at how I enjoy the aroma and flavor of my fresh ground and fresh brewed coffee every morning. It is delicious! When using the drip system I would add sugar in the raw and half and half to my coffee. I do not use anything to flavor my coffee I just enjoy it's flavor. The burr mill is consistent with the grind, it does make some noise, the setting for the grind is easy to adjust and the amount has an automatic timer. For myself this was an awesome upgrade from purchasing already ground coffee to having it fresh ground this is an awesome product. For my personal use I feel the price was very reasonable.

Good machine for the money.
It works just fine most of the time, but it jams up too easily and it is a bit of a hassle to clean it out to get it going again. This is when using a fine grind setting, about 4th from finest. Do not know whether it would jam up when using a coarser setting.

Burr Coffee Grinder
This grinder is large compared to my Krups which was not a burr grinder. The instructions say that you are only to use coffee beans in it. I does seem to be quite powerful and automatically stops after grinding a specific number of "cups". It also has a range of grind settings. The only thing that I don't like is the noise level. It will wake the dead! Sounds like an Evanrude outboard engine without a muffler and with bad bearings.This grinder is large compared to my Krups which was not a burr grinder. I like how you can select the desired amount to grind, it does a very fine grind, and perfect french press grind too. Overall if you're in a hurry just press the button and it automatically grinds so you can multitask and get your cup of joe quicker. Once you get use to the lil bugs you'll like it :)

Better Than Blades...
I've been using blade grinders for years. When my current one died I decided to get a burr grinder. I'd always heard that they provided a more uniform grind. I had also heard that the burrs wouldn't burn the beans and that my coffee would taste significantly better. I was skeptical of this claim. I AM NO LONGER A SKEPTIC!! My coffee tastes richer and fuller with less bitterness. It's hard to believe that a small investment can make so much difference in my morning ritual. This grinder is easy to use and takes up very little counter space. If you're serious about your coffee, this is a perfect item for your kitchen counter.I've been using blade grinders for years.
