I'm using it attached to my cpu cooling fan but I had to turn down to 1000rpm because 2000rpm was kind of loud and out of the box they have this set at 2000rpm which I think is a mistake. That's why you see on reviews in amazon people complaining about the sound. Now 2000rpm will bring idle temps down to about 10c less but the noise is too loud at 2000rpm. I suggest 1000rpm.
