Great Magpul hardware, as users have come to expect
The stock and additional riser cheekpiece are well packaged in the box, including each piece wrapped in plastic. Installation instructions and troubleshooting tips are well written, and illustrated clearly. Installation is the same as installing any other aftermarket stock on a 10/22 action, straightforward and intuitive. A hint, once the new stock is installed, go through the process again of reseating the front portion by loosening the locking ring, etc. This gets a good solid fit between the two parts with very little hassle. The stock works as advertised, with the front portion locking into the rear of the stock very sturdily. In fact, with the two halves locked together they will fit in the Ruger-supplied backpack in the stock pocket alone, leaving room in the other two long ... I love this stock! It looks great and feels more solid than the Ruger polymer stock that came on the rifle. Easy to install and once it's put into the storage configuration the whole rifle will fit into the large pocket of the Ruger carry bag that the rifle came with! When going on a hike I can now just put it in my backpack without fear of the two parts banging around or having to wrap it up so the parts don't mar each other . Ruger Takedown Magpul X-22 Backpacker stock
This stock is lightweight and fits like a glove. Really compacts the Takedown and keeps it all together. The storage is ample. Contributes to the Magpul X-22 Backpacker being a very good stock for a survival type use and storage of the Ruger Takedown. I am impressed and pleased with its design and function. Needs a forward small picatinny rail to accommodate a bi-pod but, that is more of a personal want. Thumbs up for sure!!!This stock is lightweight and fits like a glove. Yes, I love the product. Everything was nice looks good everything fit.. the only thing I wasn’t happy with ,was I rebuilt this gun from scratch and it didn’t have a screw for the barrel. I wish you’d come with one just in case the person don’t have it. But everything else I love it.

Makes the 10/22 Takedown Nearly Perfect
The combination of features was very well thought out. The barrel stows securely to the stock and makes a very compact package that fits easily in the Ruger bag, even with a scope (admittedly a smallish scope). The storage compartment is surprisingly roomy and the extra water resistant storage in the pistol grip is a bonus. It's really hard to find anything to criticize.
