About this product

Product Information

Original ideas for tapestries in the techniques of double weave, inlay, and pattern weave are detailed in engaging text and illustrated by over 90 beautiful colour photos displaying the completed tapestries. This captivating book also details stories of the competitive/collaborative nature of commissions integral to the creation of many tapestries. The story begins with the artist's work at Cranbrook Academy of Art. It continues with her work in Portland, Oregon, where it was embraced by art consultants, galleries, and collectors. This fascinating journey chronicles one artist's long career through gorgeous tapestries and their histories, organized in chronological order. Each tapestry displayed presents a seminal idea of the artist and, as she states, a finished tapestry illuminates daily existence and is a part of the on-going chronicle of how design ideas are conceived and executed. AUTHOR: Judith Fawkes is a working tapestry weaver in Portland, Oregon. She has been creating tapestries for over 47 years. She has completed 50 commissions that hang in diverse locations and 69 tapestries in public collections ILLUSTRATIONS: 98 colour photographs

Fantastic seller! My item took longer than normal to arrive but that's due to them sending me the wrong dvd. Not to worry though, I contacted them and they arranged for the correct dvd to be sent out. My item has now arrived and the dvd was in excellent condition (brand new as described) and it was very well packaged. I would also like to say that the value for money is excellent. I highly recommend this seller, thank you so much! The issue with the wrong dvd was quickly rectified .

Book arrived safely packaged in perfect order. Item as described, new. Thank you Rarewaves Outlet. Fascinating book, great addition to my collection. Great price. Would recommended this seller. No communication needed with seller, so don't know what to rate with regards to communication (please dont take lack of feedback on this matter as a negative). Thanks again.

This vinyl is really reasonably priced and I love that it is one of the more unusual colours. It arrived well packaged, undamaged and looks as described. It arrived late, due to Royal Mail's Festive rush, but was dispatched by the seller really quickly. When I contacted them to ask where it was, they replied really quickly with a helpful solution. Such good customer service, so strongly recommend. Really happy with my purchase.
