    Byrne's Standard Book of Pool and Billards

    This is money well spent for the beginner and intermediate player. The diagrams are clearly illustrated and explained. Byrne shows exactly what happens when cueball and object balls interact and how to make that happen for the desired effect. You hear a lot of BS in poolhalls and bars from people who may or may not know what they're talking about. This is the factual information. The best money you can spend on learning about pool or billiards.
