    KMC X10SL Gold Chain

KMC X10SL has been the preferred chain for my road bike for several years. It shifts smoothly, quietly, and without hesitation. It is lighter than other chains I have used in the past. The most value for me is the chain's durability. I systematically ride 20-30 miles a day, or about 10,000 miles a year. This chain lasts consistently 5,000 miles for me, at which point I change the chain for a new one. The long mileage I get from the chain may be facilitated by the fact that I normally ride with quite high cadence (90-100 rpm) since I am now 64-year-young and no longer a gear masher. I also clean and lube the chain regularly with the oil appropriate to the climate; I used wet oil in Chicago and now use dry oil in Phoenix. When I purchased a new bike with Ultegra gruppo a couple years ago, I ...

  • It KMC. No other chain is as good for the money.

I have tried a few other brands and they have not lasted like these KMC chains do. Plus they look awesome with that gold ti nitride lubricant. FYI stay far away from PYC chains. It's often keyworded with KMC. I accidently got one. I tried it with an open mind, but one ride and pop. At least this time I got a real KMC.

  • My go to chain

The best chain for the least money. KMC missing links make it perfect. Why get Campagnolo or Shimano chains for more money and they're hard to install and remove. KMC misssing links make it so easy to remove and install for cleaning.

  • KMC X10SL Bike Chain

Noticeably improved shifting versus Shimano 7901 or other Dura Ace chains. Its quieter too--really. There's no question, I have a new favorite chain.

  • excellent quiet chain. alternative to dura-ace 10spd

Since Shimano is not making the 10 spd dura ace light-weight chain anymore, I had to find an alternative. This chain is quiet and the shifts a flawless on my 2012 Ultegra group.
