Modem Works good but odd problem - use only port #1 !!!

This modem has worked good for me but had the odd problem of the password working on ONLY port #1 ! I spent over an hour on port #4 but it kept refusing the password even when reset. Then when I changed to port #1 it worked fine. This is a firmware issue and their is no note of this in the manual either. I have never seen this on another modem or router. Overall, the modem works great once you get past the port issue. I have used it for about 1 month and it has been very reliable.

  • Top critical review

    It does not work rightly

One of the lights is not working. The internet signal is giving problems to set up the router. I am afraid that it will give me problems in a short time.

  • One for me, Zero for the Cable Company

This modem works even better than the one supplied by the cable company. It doesn't go off several times a day and lets all the other devices access the internet. I could not get my tablet online with the company modem but the one I bought has no problem letting everything on. It is locked from outside use of course but I have not had any issues with it since the cable company activated it from their end. They did not do that at first so I thought there was something seriously wrong until I called back and talked to someone who knew what they were doing.

  • This modem is awful. Buy anything but this.

The only reason I gave this one star is because I couldn’t leave a -1. In 11 months, we’ve had to have FOUR of these replaced by our ISP. Why the ISP insists on using these pieces of junk is beyond me. They all did the same thing: One day it’ll just stop working. Every one of them did this. The ISP replaced the last one not even two months ago and this one is now doing the same thing. Save yourself the aggravation and don’t get this. We’re buying our own and it definitely won’t be from Arris.
