    A fantastic upgrade

    I bought this chip to replace the Core 2 Quad 2.4ghz processor that was currently in my Motherboard. It installed no problem, I did replace the cpu fan and heatsink with a bigger one as this CPU gets a bit hotter than the original one. The performance increase was noticable and I would recommend this for anyone still using a Core2Quad. My motherboard is a Gigabyte EP45. I have included a pic of the smaller fan and the size of the fan I used to replace it.

    Install and go

    Had to check for compatibility with motherboard, but it works perfectly. One testing motherboard I had to reinstall windows after BIOS reset since CPU was still recognised as previous, but this is known issue with migrating 771 chips to 775 mboards.

    very good way to extend life of 775mobo - may have windows 10 issues

    runs solid so far in AsRock P45X3 -- windows 7 gave 4 stars and not 5 as i have seen and heard these will not allow windows 10 to install or have windows 10 compatibility problems --
