    Got My Money's Worth

    There was a piece that broke off that holds one of the discs (the third one with the special features), but luckily the disc itself wasn't loose in the cover and looks to be in good condition. The two discs with the actual film on it worked great. King Kong: Deluxe Extended Edition is the best version of Peter Jackson's film that you could get as it includes 20 extra minutes of scenes like the Ceratops attack and the swamp monster scenes that aren't in the theatrical cut. While the theatrical cut is good, the Deluxe Extended Edition is the definitive experience.

    Very good!

    Excellent film with scenes not in theatrical release and a lot of great info about the production. The only thing I don't like is that the whole film itself isn't on one disc but it must be the length of the film is not possible to put on one disc.

    Must have for fans of special features! Extended Version Unbelievable!

    We've only watched disk three and it was already more than worth what we paid. This is the most in-depth making-of a special effects film we've ever seen. WETA is amazing! And the people all seem to be having a wonderful time recreating Kong. It's like watching a bunch of bright kids realizing their dream! This is not the blog that ran on the Kong is King (I hope that's right) website, but much, much more. If this is of interest to you, by all means get it! FYI: There are several DVDs of and about this Kong. One that we took out from the library has the movie plus the post-production blog. Very interesting! That's what got us to buy this one. Do check out exactly what is on the disk before buying so that you get what you most want. BTW, great film! A BIT OF TIME LATER: ...

    best of the remakes

    the original will always be my favorite, however, this is the best version. better special effects than the other remakes. Kong definitely mimics a real ape.
