Bajo el auspicio del Tratado Internacional sobre los Recursos Fitogeneticos para la Alimentacion y la Agricultura (TIRFAA) y la Agencia Espanola de Cooperacion Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID), entre los anos 2008 y 2010 se desarrollaron dos talleres para la implementacion del TIRFAA en el grupo de los paises de America Latina y el Caribe (GRULAC) en Cartagena de Indias (Colombia, julio-agosto de 2008) y La Antigua (Guatemala, agosto de 2010). El exito de esta actividad demostro la efectividad de este tipo de talleres en contribuir a la implementacion de los objetivos del TIRFAA dentro de la comunidad de paises GRULAC. La coordinacion de los talleres entre la Secretaria del TIRFAA, la AECID, el Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y Medio Rural y Marino y el Centro Nacional de Recursos Fitogeneticos del Instituto Nacional de Investigacion y Tecnologia Agraria y Alimentaria CRF-INIA ha sido un factor decisivo en la consecucion de los objetivos, dado el firme compromiso de Espana con el TIRFAA y los estrechos lazos existentes entre los Programas Nacionales de Conservacion de Recursos Fitogeneticos e Institutos Nacionales de Investigacion Agricola (INIAs) de los paises del GRULAC y Espana. La buena experiencia cosechada en talleres previos y la importancia de impulsar algunos objetivos del TIRFAA en America Latina y el Caribe, en particular los contenidos en los articulos 5, 6, 7, 8 y 13.2 c, represento un incentivo clave para dar continuidad a este tipo de actividades. A la vez se hizo evidente la necesidad de dar mayor profundidad y contenido tecnico a la continuidad a los talleres, estableciendo un programa de transferencia de tecnologia, donde los talleres representan un elemento dentro de una estrategia de accion mas amplia. Tomando como base estos antecedentes y las necesidades de la region fue implementado el Programas para el Fortalecimiento de las Capacidades en Programas Nacionales de Recursos Fitogeneticos de America Latina - CAPFITOGEN. Este programa esta enfocado en el desarrollo de tecnologias apropiadas para paises con abundante agrobiodiversidad y limitados recursos economicos. Su funcion es la de desarrollar la tecnologia, transferirla y proveer formacion adecuada al personal tecnico de los paises de America Latina que son parte del Tratado.

Fantastic seller! My item took longer than normal to arrive but that's due to them sending me the wrong dvd. Not to worry though, I contacted them and they arranged for the correct dvd to be sent out. My item has now arrived and the dvd was in excellent condition (brand new as described) and it was very well packaged. I would also like to say that the value for money is excellent.
