Reviews
Ranked #17 among The 50 Greatest Albums Of The '80s., 4 stars out of 5 -- "Much as they try to be trippy and hypnotic and psychedelic, The Teardrop Explodes couldn't' help making perfect pop music...", "...The songs remain incredibly wide-eyed....smothered in obscure pop culture references...and lovelorn psycho-babble...", 5 out of 5 stars - "...Fat with great songs such as 'Treason' and 'Bouncing Babies', their debut sounds as fantastic, colorful and unhinged now as it did back in the day..."

  • a classic album

i originally bought this as an lp in the mid eighties,so when i was recently moving house i came across it , cover still intact, but the record itself was missing. So i looked up e-bay and managed to get a cd version for a great price. As soon as i played it i remembered what a great album it was, great tracks like treason and reward, but also brilliant tracks like poppies and thief of baghdad.Definitely one of my top ten albums and in my opinion Julian Copes finest piece of work.

  • Kilimanjaro

After hearing " Reward " in Town I had to get this Album on CD to remind me of my youth and the Early Eighties. I'd forgotten how many good songs were on it. It has been passed around my colleagues at work aswell. The " New Youth " in the Office also like it.
