The perfect CD for any Mannheim Steamroller Fan!
Halloween is further proof that Chip Davis and his American Gramaphone recording company continue to provide and market proper musical accompaniment for all holidays, themes, and moods. With more than half a dozen Christmas albums under his belt, Chip Davis drives his Mannheim Steamroller over to another beloved holiday: Halloween. On this supernatural-themed outing, Davis brings his trademark bravado to compositions such as "Hall of the Mountain King," "The Flying Dutchman," "Night on Bald Mountain," "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," and more. Perhaps the most successful tune, however, is the opening track, "Toccata in Demole," which calls mad scientists and dark castles to mind. Throughout the album, Davis seems to be having a good, goofy time, and this consistently shows through, making it ... While there are few repeats from earlier CDs, mostly all new music. Mannheim Steamroller creates their own version of some of the classics - Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries, Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain and Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor - if you want the symphonic version of these classic, don't get this CD. If you need some weird and creepy background sound effects, take a listen to that CD in this collection!Halloween music Mannheim Steamroller style! Creepy musical fun!
An amazingly fun Halloween party set! Mannheim Steamroller retool some familiar classical works (listed as 'deranged by Chip Davis') while adding some original spooky melodies. Classics include Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, Hall Of The Mountain King, and others. Disc 2 has a tremendous soundscape of eerie effects and surprises. My only complaint is that both discs could have been longer.
