    Tony Hatch - Man Of Many Talents - Essential Collection

    This is a 60 tune, 3 CD set, which showcases Tony Hatch's talent across Easy Listening ('Music To Watch Girls Go By' 'Soul Coaxing' etc) on CD 1; Pop Hits ('Downtown' 'My Love' etc) on CD 2 and TV Themes ('The Champions''Emmerdale Farm' etc) on CD 3. Whilst there are a number of Tony Hatch compilation CD in the market, this is the only one I know that chowcases these three areas so well. All tunes are original recordings. So why did I buy this set? I was searching for a CD track of Josh Macrae's early sixties hit 'Messing About On The River' - which is featured on CD2 of this set! Tony Hatch became famous as a result of Petula Clark's 60's hits, many of which he wrote or co-wrote (Like 'Downtown'). For other folks, he will be remembered as the ascerbic judge dishing out rude comments on ...
