Great child's book!
When I was a librarian for an elementary school I used this book with the doll. I chose children to put the animals in the little old lady and another one to take them out of her. The children loved it. A friend of mine had borrowed this set to read to a little neighbor's class, and she followed my example. She fell in love with this book and doll as well as the class. So, when her child recently turned three I had to find the correct doll (there is another doll out there that is very scary and ugly-DON'T get that one!)and the small hard board book to go with it. The little 8 year old boy, whose class she read to, was at the party. He remembered the doll and dropped the toys he was playing with and started playing with this doll and the animals! I love the book design of hard cover pages. Very bright colors and cute characters in the illustrations. I like the actual hole in the book that gets bigger and bigger after turning each page. Because I have small children I have to change the words from, "Perhaps she'll die" to "Oh me oh my" and the ending, "She's dead of course" to She's sick of course." Other than a few harsh words, this book is great!I love the book design of hard cover pages. Very bright colors and cute characters in the illustrations. The Most Fun This Year
This book moved me up on the scale of great Nana's. I've gone from a 6 to a 10...10 being Superior Nana 9th degree....My three year old Tatum loved it so much I've been able to tell it again and again in a different manner 50 times. She repeats the words exactly as I say them and we roll on the floor laughing. Share this book with a child...you will never regret it! Fifty years down the road the child will probably be sharing it with their grandchild!This book moved me up on the scale of great Nana's.
