About this product

Product Information

Jacqueline Woodson--New York Times Bestselling, National Book Award and Newbery Honor winning author--writes a rich story of a family adapting to change as they hold on to the past and embrace the future. With Coretta Scott King Award-winning illustrator James Ransome. During the time of the Great Migration, millions of African American families relocated from the South, seeking better opportunities. The story of one family's journey north during the Great Migration starts with a little girl in South Carolina who finds a rope under a tree one summer. She has no idea the rope will become part of her family's history. But for three generations, that rope is passed down, used for everything from jump rope games to tying suitcases onto a car for the big move north to New York City, and even for a family reunion where that first little girl is now a grandmother. Praise for This is the Rope-

Fantastic seller! My item took longer than normal to arrive but that's due to them sending me the wrong dvd. Not to worry though, I contacted them and they arranged for the correct dvd to be sent out. My item has now arrived and the dvd was in excellent condition (brand new as described) and it was very well packaged. I would also like to say that the value for money is excellent. I highly recommend this seller, thank you so much! The issue with the wrong dvd was quickly rectified .

Book arrived safely packaged in perfect order. Item as described, new. Thank you Rarewaves Outlet. Fascinating book, great addition to my collection. Great price. Would recommended this seller. No communication needed with seller, so don't know what to rate with regards to communication (please dont take lack of feedback on this matter as a negative). Thanks again.

This vinyl is really reasonably priced and I love that it is one of the more unusual colours. It arrived well packaged, undamaged and looks as described. It arrived late, due to Royal Mail's Festive rush, but was dispatched by the seller really quickly. When I contacted them to ask where it was, they replied really quickly with a helpful solution. Such good customer service, so strongly recommend. Really happy with my purchase.
